School & Campus Relocation

Schools and Universities Campus Relocation in Dubai

We handle schools and universities relocation in Dubai for private schools, nurseries, universities and training centres. Classrooms, science labs, libraries, computer rooms and admin offices are packed room by room, and every item is coded to its exact room in the new building.

A school has one date it cannot miss: the first day of term. Students and parents arrive that morning whether the move went well or not. The volume makes that date harder to hit, because a school can have thousands of desks, chairs, books and resources that all need to land in the right room. As office movers in Dubai, we plan educational moves backwards from the first day of term, with a room coding system that tells the crew where every item goes.

What We Move for Schools and Universities

An educational building holds far more varied items than an office — and far more of them. Every one of these is coded to a room before it moves.

    01

    Student Desks & Chairs

Every size, from KG to senior years. Sizes are recorded at the survey and coded to their rooms, because a KG chair arriving in a Year 11 classroom is a whole morning lost.

    02

    Teacher Desks & Classroom Storage

Teacher desks, cupboards and classroom storage units, placed to each room’s layout sheet rather than left in the middle of the floor.

    03

    Interactive Panels & Projectors

Smart boards, interactive panels and projectors, moved after your IT team disconnects them and remounted where your IT team needs them.

    04

    Science Lab Equipment

Microscopes, balances, glassware and lab stools, packed in padded crates and moved upright where needed. Chemicals are a separate matter — see section 6.

    05

    Library Books & Shelving

Books are packed IN SHELF ORDER, each crate numbered to match its shelf, so your librarian fills the new shelves in the same sequence instead of re-sorting the collection.

    06

Computer Labs & the School Server

Desktops, monitors and the server. If your school runs its own server room, that is a separate process with its own labelling and port map — see our server room relocation.

    07

    Sports & PE Equipment

Gym machines, mats, PE stores and sports equipment. Gym machines are surveyed against lift limits before a date is agreed, the same as a lab analyser.

    08

    Music Instruments

Including pianos and drum kits. Pianos are moved with the right equipment for their weight, and stairs, lifts and doorways are checked at both buildings during the survey.

    09

    Art Room Equipment

Easels, kilns and drying racks. Kilns are heavy, awkward and usually in the worst-placed room in the building, which is exactly why they are surveyed early.

    10

    KG Furniture & Play Equipment

KG furniture, soft play items and outdoor play equipment that can be dismantled. What cannot be dismantled safely is flagged at the survey rather than discovered on the day.

    11

    Student Records & Exam Papers

Student files, safeguarding records, exam papers and admin files, into lockable crates with numbered seals on a signed inventory. Section 7 is entirely about this.

    12

    Staff Room, Reception & Admin

Staff room, reception and admin office furniture. The straightforward part of the job, and the part that moves last so the school office keeps running longest.

Room Coding: How Every Item Reaches the Right Room

The biggest risk in a school move is not damage. It is a new building where desks, books and resources sit in the wrong rooms on the first morning.

A crate labelled with its destination room code during a Dubai school relocation

We prevent that with a room code for every space. Each room in the new building gets a code from its floor and room number, that code goes on the floor plan and on the door, and every crate and every piece of furniture carries the code of where it is going before it is lifted.

The library is the clearest example of why it matters. Books are packed in shelf order, each crate numbered to match its shelf, so your librarian fills the new shelves in the same sequence rather than re-sorting the whole collection in the week before term.

    01

    A Code for Every Room

Each room in the new building gets a code based on its floor and room number — B2-14, for instance. The code goes on the floor plan and on a sign at the door of the new room.

    02

    Labels Before Packing

Every crate and piece of furniture gets a label with the code of its destination room. Your teachers and department heads confirm the codes for their own rooms before packing starts.

    03

    Loading by Floor

Trucks are loaded so items for the same floor travel and unload together. The crew takes each item straight to its coded room, never to a central pile in the atrium.

    04

    Layout Sheets per Room

For classrooms and labs we follow a layout sheet showing where the desks, the cupboards and the teacher’s station go. Rooms are ready to use, not just filled.

    Science Labs and Chemicals

Lab equipment is fragile and the lab stores can hold hazardous chemicals, so labs follow their own plan and their own timetable.

    The Problem

Lab equipment does not survive a general move

Microscopes, balances and glassware are packed in padded crates and moved upright where needed, with the lab packed separately from the rest of the building and your own lab staff present while it happens.

    The Problem

Chemicals cannot travel on a furniture truck

Chemicals are the school’s responsibility and we do not move them. Your lab technician should sort, label and pack them according to their safety data sheets, and arrange licensed disposal for anything expired or no longer needed. Some chemicals can only travel with a licensed dangerous goods carrier. We plan the lab move around your technician’s schedule and handle the equipment, the furniture and the non-hazardous stock.

    Student Records and Exam Papers

Student files, safeguarding records and exam papers need the same care as any confidential archive, and they move under the same chain of custody.

    1. Lockable Crates, Numbered Seals

Student files, safeguarding records and exam papers go into lockable crates. Each crate is closed with a tamper-evident seal carrying its own number.

    2. An Inventory Your Registrar Keeps

Crate numbers, seal numbers and contents are listed on an inventory that your registrar or data officer holds — not one that lives only with us.

    3. Signed Out, Signed In

Crates are counted and signed out at the old campus, then counted and signed in at the new one, with your nominated person checking the seals.

    4. No Opening, No Sorting

Our crew does not open files or sort papers at any point. Crates are packed by shelf or drawer as your team instructs and sealed as soon as they are full.

If exams are running near the move date, keep live exam papers with your exams officer. Do not include them in the general move at all. This is the one instruction on this page that is for you rather than for us, and it is the one worth passing to your exams officer directly.

    Approvals Your Institution Handles

Moving to a new campus changes your permit. These approvals are your institution’s responsibility — we do not apply for them, but we plan the move dates around them.

    • Private Schools & Nurseries

New premises must be approved educational premises, and KHDA approval is needed before students can attend at the new address. The building will also need a valid Civil Defence certificate. Confirm the exact steps with your KHDA contact.

    • Training Centres

KHDA has a “Change the Location of a Training Institute” service. You apply through the KHDA portal with initial approval from your licensing authority. Once approved, your Educational Services Permit is updated and a No Objection Certificate is issued to the licensing authority.

    • Higher Education in Dubai’s Free Zones

Campus changes go through KHDA’s premises amendment service. Private institutions need a letter from the Commission for Academic Accreditation, and branch campuses need a letter from their home campus.

    • Outside Dubai

A campus relocation in another emirate goes through that emirate’s education authority — ADEK in Abu Dhabi, or SPEA in Sharjah.

We ask for your approval and inspection dates at the start. Furniture and equipment go in first, so the building looks and works like a finished school on inspection day rather than like a building site with boxes in it.

Our Process for Moving a School or Campus

Eight stages, built backwards from the first day of term rather than forwards from the last day of the old lease.

    01

    Campus Survey

We walk both buildings with your facilities manager, count rooms and items, and check lifts, stairs and loading access.

    02

    Room Coding

We code every room on the new floor plan and agree the codes with your department heads before anything is labelled.

    03

    Crate Delivery

Crates and room-coded labels arrive before term ends, so teachers can pack their own classroom resources in the last days.

    04

    Specialist Packing

Labs, library, IT and music rooms are packed separately, each with their own staff present.

    05

    Moving by Building and Floor

Each truck carries items for one floor or wing, unloaded straight into coded rooms rather than into a holding area.

    06

    Room Setup

Desks, cupboards and equipment are placed to each room’s layout sheet.

    07

    Walk-Through

Your facilities manager checks the building room by room with our supervisor, and we fix anything out of place before we leave.

    08

    Old Campus Cleared

Surplus furniture goes to storage or is removed, and the old building is emptied for handover.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you move a whole school in the summer break?

Yes. Most schools move within the summer break. The survey and room coding should happen before term ends, so the crew can start packing on the first day of the holiday.

Can our teachers pack their own classrooms?

Yes. Many schools prefer it, because teachers know their resources best. We deliver crates and room-coded labels before term ends, and our crew packs the furniture and everything else.

    Do you move lab chemicals?

No. Chemicals are packed by your lab technician, and some need a licensed dangerous goods carrier. We move the lab equipment, furniture and non-hazardous stock, and plan the timing with your technician.

    Can you move our pianos?

Yes. Pianos are moved with the right equipment for their weight. We check stairs, lifts and doorways at both buildings during the survey. Your piano will usually need tuning after the move.

Do you get KHDA approval for our new campus?

No. Your school or institution applies for KHDA approval of the new premises. We plan our move dates around your approval and inspection.

Can you store furniture we do not need at the new campus?

Yes. Surplus desks, chairs and equipment can go into storage and be delivered later, or kept until you decide what to do with them.
